During our topic, ‘Blood Heart’, we were visited by the BHF (British Heart Foundation),who fund research into the Heart’s biggest diseases. Our children received training on how to restart a heart as part of their restart a heart campaign. Check out the photographs below.

Also as part of our topic, the children organised a bake sale to raise funds for the BHF. The children worked in groups to design posters, present their posters, make biscuits and cakes and sell them to the children in KS2. See some of the posters we designed and photographs of our bake sale below.

In the second week of September, some of our year six children went to Robinwood Activity Centre as part of a 3 day residential. The children and staff had a wonderful time and every child tried their best to complete every challenge and activity, with some gentle support from staff. Below are pictures of the children enjoying some of their favourite activities.

The Old School Todmorden

The children listening to the Robinwood rules, which included making their own beds. Check out the shock on some of their faces.

The children taking part in Bouldering at Orchan Rocks, whilst enjoying the magnificent views.

The is one of the children’s favourite activities as they have to work together to solve a number clues and problems against the clock. They have 30 minutes as soon as the door closes and if they don’t work together and solve the clues then …

Children using their 4 senses to navigate a course after being blindfolded. They needed to watch out for the squirrels to avoid a soaking.

Bulls eye! children on target during archery.

Don’t look down! Children take the leap of death during the trapeze activity.

Children climbing the wall, trying to reach the top and ring the bell.

The crate challenge activity really is a test of team work. Balance and communication are key skills when trying to create a create tower.
